Hello, our names are Eric and Kristin. We would like to welcome you to our story and adoption journey! We met through competitive swimming and briefly dated in high school. While our high school relationship didn't hold, we remained good friends after graduation. 12 years later we started dating again and fell in love. We got married in November of 2013 and were excited to start our family. A little less than a year passed with no pregnancy and at that point we decided to seek out medical assistance. After multiple rounds of testing, we found out that there were fertility issues, thus explaining the pregnancy troubles. We were presented with treatments, but our medical diagnosis meant there would be significant risk to Kristin and the unborn child, if we were to get pregnant. It was at this point that we started to focus on adoption to fulfill our desire to become parents. We always had a strong desire to adopt, and we're so happy our story took this path!
In December of 2015 we got "THE CALL" from our social worker telling us we had been matched with a baby girl. Colette Farra- Katherine was born on December 3rd and is now a sassy, happy and bubbly toddler! We remain in contact with her birthfamily through open adoption. Our lives are forever changed from the gift that adoption has given us.
Eric is currently serving in the Air Force (17 years) and Kristin is a Stay at Home Mom. We recently moved across the pond to England for the Air Force. That's when we received the call that we would be adopting Colette's sibling. Follow along our journey to Baby H as we navigate the waters of adopting while stationed overseas.
