New Year, another new blog. Writing a blog is nothing out of the norm these days, but with the majority of our friends and families living all over the country it seems like the easiest way to keep everyone informed on our adoption journey. With all the love and support from these folks it only seems fair to include them on this journey that we are taking. My other goal is to educate about open adoption and hopefully one day help other prospective adoptive parents.
So, why did we choose open adoption? Because I told Eric that's what we were going to do. Just kidding, Eric. Of course at first there was a lot of skepticism but as I researched I found more heartwarming stories than I had imagined. While I understand that no two adoptions are alike, I felt that one day those stories filled with love could be our story. And no I don't expect this process to be easy by any stretch of the imagination. I imagine that we will have our hearts broken a time or two, but what makes that OK is that I have Eric by my side and faith that this journey will one day make us parents. Our other big reason is because I want our child to know that they weren't abandoned and hopefully be comforted in that knowledge. At the end of the day there's more reasons than that, but those are the BIG ones.
Here's what we know so far:
Last but not least, we're very grateful for everyone that's been so supportive in our lives and helping us out. We appreciate more than you'll ever know, and to repay you we fully intend on letting you have all the baby kisses that you want!!! Stay tuned........

Here's what we know so far:
- We've chosen our agency, Adoptions From The Heart.
- Adoption itself is quite pricey. (And that number that they hand you doesn't include all the baby gear that you need to purchase)
- We've started our first (Not LAST!) fundraising site at http://www.gofundme.com/jtxfnc
- Anything that we can do on our side will be top priority!
- And this is our blog!
